iOS version
The WayTrove app is covered by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. By getting WayTrove from the App Store, you agree to it.
- WayTrove is a tool for personal use. Location results depend on signal, device and system conditions, so routes, distances and footprints may differ from what actually happened. Don’t use it for navigation, emergencies or anything else that needs a precise location.
- Your data is stored on your device and in your own cloud. Before you change devices or delete the app, make sure a backup has finished.
- Watch the traffic and your surroundings when you use the map, and don’t use it while driving.

Subject to these terms and applicable law, you may install and use WayTrove for personal purposes on compatible Android devices that you own or control.
If you obtain the app through Google Play, store downloads, payments and refunds are governed by the applicable Google Play terms and your legal rights. Apple's standard app license applies to the iOS section of this page and is not the Android version's license.
Recording and use
WayTrove is a tool for recording personal footprints and trips. Signals, the device, permissions and system conditions affect location results. Routes, distances and footprints may differ from what actually happened. Do not use it for navigation, emergencies or other purposes requiring precise location. Watch traffic and your surroundings when using the map, and do not operate it while driving.
When you start a trip or turn on Everyday Fog Clearing, the app requests location updates through an Android location foreground service. Recording may continue when you switch apps or lock the screen, but device conditions, permissions, power management or the system stopping the service may interrupt it. You can pause or end a trip and turn off Everyday Fog Clearing separately. These controls are separate, and continuous or accurate location records are not guaranteed.
Your content and backups
Adding photos, videos, routes or other content to the app does not transfer your existing rights to WayTrove. Only add or share content you have the right to use. Remember that shared photos, videos and routes may contain information about you or other people, including location.
Your device is the primary place where data is stored. You may connect your own Google Drive for backups and cloud media. If backup settings have not yet been chosen, the first connection enables automatic Wi-Fi backups, which you can change in the app. Backups have a defined scope; they are not a copy of the whole device or every preference.
Cloud contents are encrypted, but the keys needed for recovery are also stored in the WayTrove folder of the same Google Account. This is not a guarantee that Google or someone with access to that account cannot recover the contents. Protect your cloud account. Before changing devices, clearing app data, uninstalling the app or deleting cloud files, confirm that you have a usable backup and any media originals you need. Disconnecting Google, turning off a feature and deleting existing cloud copies are different actions. See the Privacy Policy.
Rights, external services and contact
Rights in the app's code, interface and third-party components remain with their respective rights holders. Open-source software, maps and boundary data are provided under their respective licenses. The Android app uses MapLibre Native, AndroidX, OkHttp, Kotlin libraries, JTS, flag-icons and Google Play services Auth, each under its own license. Map and boundary data sources are listed in the app under About WayTrove › Terms, Data & Licenses. This section does not change those third-party licenses.
Google Drive, Google Account services, OpenFreeMap, external maps, and camera or sharing apps are provided by their respective providers and operate under their own terms and privacy policies. They may require a network connection and incur data charges. See the Android privacy section linked from this page for how WayTrove uses and transfers data.
This section does not limit consumer rights protected by applicable law. Contact: support@waytrove.world.
